Obesity is one of the leading causes of ill health. According to statistics, almost 6 out of 10 adults are overweight or are obese. With regards to health, obesity is an issue. It is noted that those individuals who have slim and fit bodies have diets rich in fiber and low in fat. The food they eat are often healthy and will not cause weight gain. By contrast, obese individuals have diets consisting mostly of fats, sugar and processed foods and avoid foods that are actually healthy for them. Even if genetics plays a major role in obesity, it is possible for a person to stay moderately thin with proper diet and avoiding unhealthy, fattening and processed food. Experts would always say that proper diet is important in order to lose weight. Weight loss wouldn’t happen without any dietary restraint. Even if a person exercised for several hours each day, weight loss would never happen if he or she doesn’t watch what he or she eats.
